Notre Dame freshman forward Justin Janicke scored his first goal as a college player against Penn State on December 3, 2021.

Landon Slaggert and Justin Janicke have been selected to attend the USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp in Plymouth, Michigan, from July 24 to August 3, 2022.

The teams for the upcoming World Junior Championships, which will be hosted in Canada in August and December, will be chosen by USA Hockey. The camp will be in Colorado Springs in this state.

Junior Slaggert of South Bend, Indiana, represented the United States at the World Junior Games in 2021 and 2022. These tournaments were conducted in 2021 and 2022, respectively. During his first year at Notre Dame in 2021, he was a member of the United States squad that won gold at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

On December 26 last year, he scored the game-winning goal for the United States in a friendly encounter at Red Deer, Alberta. Slovakia was defeated 3-2. Due to a COVID-19 outbreak, Team USA was forced to forfeit their game against Switzerland on December 28. This resulted in the cancellation of the 2022 World Championships.

The International Ice Hockey Federation has rescheduled the 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships to Red Deer and adjacent Edmonton from August 9 to August 20. People learned in February that a new date had been set. At Red Deer, Group B will consist of the United States, Sweden, Slovakia, Switzerland, and Latvia. Because Russia invaded Ukraine, it was determined that the United States would replace Russia in the tournament.

Finland, Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic will all compete in Edmonton’s Group A finals.

Notre Dame’s Landon Slaggert attended the Big Ten hockey tournament game between Wisconsin and Notre Dame on March 6, 2022, at the Compton Family Ice Arena in South Bend, Indiana.

Slaggert, a former Irish striker who had 12 goals and 26 points last season, and Janicke, a former forward from Maple Grove, Minnesota, who played for the USA National Team Development Program, have both qualified to play for Team USA in the competition in August. The competition will take place in August once the final roster is selected on August 3.

Janicke is eligible to compete in the 2023 World Junior Championships, which will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Moncton, New Brunswick from December 26 to January 5. Janicke is able to attend both of these events. The team’s roster will be available towards the middle of December.

Justin Janicke and Landon Slaggert have been invited to the National Junior Evaluation Camp, which will be place from July 24 to August 3 at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

Sixty players will attend the camp, which is part of USA Hockey’s effort to examine rosters for the next World Junior Championships in August and December.

The organizers have chosen that a junior national team will compete in the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship, which will be contested from August 9 to 20 in Edmonton, Alberta. The final roster of 23 players should be made public by August 3. The tournament was scheduled to take place in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta, between December 26, 2021 and January 5, 2022, however it was postponed due to COVID.

The roster for the 2022-2023 IIHF World Junior Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Moncton, New Brunswick, will be announced in the middle of December.

Slaggert has competed with Team USA in the previous two World Championships. He earned a gold medal and scored one goal for the squad in 2021 before the COVID tournament was postponed in 2022 due to inclement weather.
